"Peace and Fulfillment of Humankind's Potential"
AIESEC is the world's largest student run organization, with over 86,000 members in 124 countries. AIESEC facilitates international internships for globally-minded students to expand their cultural understandings and develop professional and leadership skills. Its unique platform allows young leaders to foster global cooperation and ultimately a better world. Founded in 1948 after World War II, AIESEC aimed to reestablish international cooperation and collaboration to heal the wounds from the war and to prevent the atrocities from repeating themselves. AIESEC was initially the youth voice of the United Nations, and was founded with the idea that professional exchange of college students would allow the generation of future leaders to understand each other, which would lead to peace. Since its founding 66 years ago, AIESEC has expanded rapidly into the network it is today at more than 2,400 universities around the world.
AIESEC at DavisThe chapter of AIESEC Davis was started in 2013 by the son of an AIESEC alumnus. Within the first four months, AIESEC Davis had sent three students on internship opportunities abroad in Poland, China, and India. Since then, AIESEC Davis has continued to grow and now has 14 members. AIESEC Davis is partnered with five organizations around the Davis area, including the Silicon Valley networking firm The Churchill Club. Members from the chapter attend both regional and national conferences to further develop their skills both within the organization and as leaders.
